CHRISTMAS IN COLOMBIA: A CELEBRATION OF JOY AND SOLIDARITY
As part of our community support initiatives, ONG Tú Eres Yo, Yo Soy Tú organized a Christmas activity for 40 children from a community in Tumaco, Colombia.
This initiative was made possible through the work and commitment of Marcela (“Lico”) and Ximena, who, together with our organization and everyone who supported the project, helped create a special space where the children could enjoy a celebration filled with joy, togetherness, and the spirit of Christmas.
A PROJECT BUILT BY A COMMUNITY
Planning for the activity began months in advance with a simple but meaningful purpose: to prepare a special day for the children and share the joy of Christmas with them.
Thanks to the collaboration and donations received, we were able to organize different activities and prepare the resources needed to carry out the project.
A DAY TO SHARE
During the celebration, the children participated in games and recreational and creative activities, shared food, and enjoyed different moments prepared especially for them.
One of the most anticipated moments was the distribution of gifts. Each child received a gift made possible by the contributions of people who chose to support this initiative.
Beyond the gifts, our purpose was to create a space where the children could spend time together, have fun, and feel supported by their community.
40 CHILDREN, ONE COMMUNITY, AND MANY PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER
This activity reminded us of something that deeply represents the spirit of Tú Eres Yo, Yo Soy Tú: when many people contribute according to their possibilities, together we can turn an idea into meaningful action.
None of this would have been possible without those who donated, collaborated, organized, prepared, and participated in the activity.
To every person who chose to be part of this project: thank you.
This Christmas celebration in Tumaco was built by many hands and many hearts, demonstrating that solidarity can also begin with a simple gesture.
Because when we make the well-being of others part of our own concern, we truly understand the meaning behind our name:
Tú eres yo, yo soy tú. 💜💛
